Program Description

Event Details

If you had previously taken the test to use our last quilting machine (Lucy), then this class is for you! We'll cover the major differences in the machine and get you up to speed to start quilting.

This will be an instructional session; there will be no hands-on practice, so no supplies are needed.

This class will quickly cover all the basics and prepare you for the quick certification test required to use the machine. Please keep in mind that you must complete both of these steps before reserving Ethel (our new quilting machine).

Class Requirements:

This class is designed for those who have previously used a Janome Artistic Star XLQ 18″x8′ Long-Arm Quilting Machine.
If you did not complete the test to use our previous quilting machine, our Quilting Machine Basics classes will resume in March.

This class will cover:
  • Parts of the machine
  • Winding bobbins and threading the machine
  • Basic safety, maintenance, and troubleshooting tips
  • What the machine should look like at the end of a session
  • How to reserve the machine

Please note that we'll be looking at small details, so be sure to bring your glasses if you need them for fine detail work.
